My monster chick.

This hen, I'm assuming is a feather duster, is huge. Not only has it got the feather to die for but it has a  massive 70 gram frame at 40 days old.
Younger nest mate, showing some nice feathering.

 All three nest mates together.

I have let the parents go for a second round and they are currently on 2 eggs.

My Best Grey Boy -photo update.

I haven't been on here for a while and I thought it's about time for an update. My best grey boy (supreme UBC in show, dandenong) is just over 6months old and is growing nicely. He is such a good boy in the show cage too.

With dad, he looks tiny.
With full brother.

Possible future pairings. Best to best. This hen is also only 6months old.

This hen I chose for him because of her length, stance and wings.
Full sister
Can't wait to see what he looks like in another 6 months.

My First Diploma Show- Dandenong Budgie Club

I took my girls to our first diploma show at the Dandenong Budgie Club, Saturday 16th February. There were around 400 birds benched. We had a fantastic day meeting lots of new people and catching up with some people from our own club. We brought along three UBC's (unbroken caps) and two young birds. My two lacewing babies were the only two in their category so they got first and second by default. My young blue cock was disqualified because of his tail and the young greygreen cock got second by default. My grey was the only grey in his catergory but went on to get  best UBC in beginner and also won the Supreme UBC for the day. Very EXCITING !!!! So we went home with heaps of prizes, the best for me were the rosettes.

PRIZES:Bottle of wine, box of beautiful fresh vegetables, a lovely crystal bird and two rosettes.
Here's my boy today, nice and relaxed.(8weeks old)
